It’s not every day you get to photograph a home that the owners have put their heads and hearts into creating. This Dunedin couple has designed and built a home with everything, even an Airbnb, a space for Christy to teach yoga, an area to show off and store their actively used surfboard quiver.
Professional snowboarder, and yoga teacher Christy Prior, and Simon builder by trade put in 15-hour days, 7 days a week to make this all happen. Very impressive!
So I wanted to photograph this architectural dream in the best possible way. Using natural light and making sure all the Resene colours they used were displayed in the most accurate way. I am very OCD about the white balance/colour temperatures in any interior I shoot, and for good reason. Homeowners and architects put a lot of time and effort into selecting colours and textured surfaces. I want to recognise this excellent skill in all my architectural and real estate images.
