Yes, they are part of a long-term project. All 35mm Black and white film images are grainy and not commercially viable. Some of which may not ever see the light of day. But I’m ok with that. Why? Because that is the whole point. It’s like dancing or singing when nobody is watching. No distractions or pressures to conform to what the public wants or thinks photography is. Not all reportage work must necessarily be instant, this type of photography has so much more possibility than the box that seems to have been put around it.
One of the main reasons I still shoot 35mm Black and White film is that I find the whole process very therapeutic. I just want to make photographs on my own terms. Using life and light, Like a time machine capturing this world we are all passing through, without the distraction of this crazy social media-driven, superhighway we are all charging on down.
